new apartment

So I just defied the expectations and demands of my mother (and older sister) and signed a lease for a studio apartment of my very own instead of a two bedroom one with her.

It's a basement studio in a house owned by a wealthy older woman in a neighborhood so beautiful I practically cried on the way over there and is so close to the city that it cuts my commute time in half and the local library is in a building so old it's been given historical landmark status, and yet...
